I love good quality work, it’s intoxicating. To do anything well one needs to love it, an antique needs to reflect its true age. Good quality restoration whether of furniture or architecture shouldn’t be hidden, it should be beautifully done, it’s part of the history and age of a piece. It should enhance it. It’s better to repair a chair rail than replace it, even if it takes longer and shows. It will add interest but it should have the master's touch.
